LYRIDS FOLK DANCE FESTIVAL

April 21 to 23, 2017

Relive your memories of Lyrids Folk Dance Festival 2016

DANCE WITH US

in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

The 2017 Lyrids Folk Dance Festival will be held at Peretz Centre, 6184 Ash Street, Vancouver, BC. The hall has a wonderful hardwood dance floor, large stage, and full kitchen. The dance hall is almost 3000 sq ft, and there are extra rooms to hold workshops. Ample parking is available under the building.

Our featured teachers are the ever popular Yves Moreau and France Bourque-Moreau. Yves and France will be teaching a program of Bulgarian and International dances. Orkestar RTW from Seattle will be returning to provide live music for the Saturday evening party.

We have some questions for you! We are considering taking advantage of Yves & France’s extensive experience teaching folk dancing: France to children, and Yves to adults. Would you be interested in a workshop to learn tips and techniques on teaching folk dancing to children and/or adults? We also want to know your thoughts on the Sunday afternoon workshops.
Take our poll and let us know.

Registration will open Monday, January 30.
The cost is $185 / US$150 before March 1, and $195 / US$160, after that.
Registration will be limited to no more than 100 dancers at any workshop.
The schedule for the weekend will be posted after analyzing the poll results.

But wait, there’s more!

  • On Thursday, April 20, 7-10pm, Yves and France will do a workshop at Surrey International Folk Dancing at Walnut Road Elementary School, 16152 82 Ave, Surrey. Admission: $10 drop-in, or $5 for SIFD members.
  • Yves and France will be at the Sunday evening dinner/dance on April 23 at Dale’s house in Surrey. Admission is by donation ($10 suggested), which goes to Yves and France. RSVP.
