The highlight of the Saturday night dance party is the band Orkestar RTW from Seattle.

*Orkestar RTW* is a Seattle-based band founded in 1987 by musicians who were members of the Radost Folk Ensemble. Named in the spirit of Balkan radio and television house bands (such as *Orkestar Radio-Televizije Beograd*), *Orkestar RTW* (*Radio-Televizije Washington*) plays traditional folkdance music from Bulgaria and Macedonia, with occasional ventures into Serbia, Albania, Greece and beyond. A number of fine musicians have been part of the group over the years. The current members are:

Teodora Dimitrova: tambura and vocals
Ronald Long: accordion
Tim McCormack: tapan and dumbeck
Lizzy Pedersen: violin
Jana Rickel: bass and vocals

They were a hit at Lyrids 2019, Lyrids 2017, Lyrids 2016, Lyrids 2015, at the Salt Spring Island Folk Dance Festival in 2010, and we are delighted to have them play again for our next Lyrids Festival in Vancouver in 2023.
